I wasnt really pleased or displeased with this read... it seemed like it had a lot of generic information that could easily be found on one of many websites devoted to the topic. Then again many of us don't want to go digging through all of that and questioning the resources from where said information was found lol
It was also kind of repetative.
For myself (an avid reader with many thoughts and beliefs on this topic) it was a 3 star read... for someone who is just getting into this type of book I think it would be a good choice. Its a one-stop spot for the basics and provides the reader to look further into everything, but to also accept.
I'm not sure if I'd recommend or not really... it just depends on the reader I guess

I wished before that I want to have a third eye and still want to have it now. I tried some of the tips of my friends to open my third eye but they did not work. I research for tips on how to open my third eye and my research brought me here. This book has good tips that I never knew but some of these tips are not effective because I tried the m already. I want to try the other tips when I have enough time because it needed to do it with enough preparations.

About the Author
Ann Raimes is Professor of English at Hunter College, City University of New York, where she has taught for 30 years. In addition to teaching undergraduate composition courses, ESL writing courses, and graduate courses in rhetoric and composition, she was in charge of the Developmental English Program students for ten years and has held a variety of administrative posts in the English Department, including directing the first-year composition course. She also chaired a CUNY-wide ESL Task Force, 1993-94, and was chair of International TESOL's Publication Committee, 1989-91. Author of eight textbooks for composition--three of them are published by Houghton Mifflin--and ESL courses (many in several editions), Ann Raimes also publishes research and theoretical articles and has been invited to give keynote addresses in Singapore, Hong Kong, Rome, Athens, and in many parts of Canada and the US. Her research interests are the writing process, second language writing, grammar instruction, writing across the curriculum, and Web-based instruction.

An excellant addition to magical series!

This third book of the ‘Masters and Mages’ series is quite compelling and, in my opinion, more ambitious than the previous installments in the series, which I absolutely adored. The first half of the richly-detailed story is devoted to the torrid relationship between two new-to-the series characters: captive prince, Dezra Luzan, who harbors dormant magical powers, and Rayn Nevar, a captain escorting visiting dignitaries who are allies of the prince’s captors. The chemistry between Dezra and Rayn is stuff-of-legend fabulous, but magic, massive trust issues, and a harrowing political climate make this story much more than a clever otherworld romance. Be prepared for riveting adventure, and wonderfully imaginative scenes of passion and sorcery of the “go-deep” epic variety. Plus, the reappearance of M’lan and Jamil, leading characters from the first two books, transform this absorbing tale of one man’s destiny into a true spellbinder. Innovative!

What made this story stand apart for me is that initially the characters weren’t all that likable. Prince Dezra’s pretense of being an indolent wastrel addicted to drugs and sex, coupled with his inner voice of suspicion, first read as cowardice to me. But the slow reveal of the reasons behind his fear and his valiant fight to find his true self despite harboring a tremendous supernatural demon, eventually won me over. Plus, I really love the characters of M’lan and Jamil so their inclusion made me take a kinder view toward the prince. Uh-huh, because M’lan thought Dezra worth saving, I was swayed to reconsider my constant Kirk-to-McCoy voice of “Get it together, Bones” that accompanied my journey with Dezra throughout the initial half of the book. I still consider Dezra a most fragile and arrogant prince, and freely admit that his gorgeous appearance and satyriasis-like sex drive also figured into my gradual love of him as an intriguing anti-hero.

Captain Rayn Nevar was splendid both as a courageous warrior and heroic lover. Okay, at times I wanted him to smack the prince upside his head… but given that Dezra held the power to smite him from the Earth, in this case patience was indeed a virtue.

The storyline definitely churns up some emotion and is more than the sum of its simple-complex plot. I weighed in on some tough morality questions, all the while wondering if the prince would find the spiritual fulfillment he needed to rule both the magic within him and his kingdom. The author’s skill at world building rose another notch with this book and I happily wallowed in an ethereal land of dusty valleys, rocky terrains, and majestic mountains, when I wasn’t shivering in the dank cold shadows of the serpent god Ka’alar’s embrace. Like a little mysticism and danger with your romance? Then this book is for you!

As with his earlier Rome Sweet Home, Hahn's The Lamb's Supper seeks to bring scriptural exegesis and Roman Catholic ritual tradition into fruitful dialogue. The central thrust of this piece is that Catholic liturgy offers the best interpretive paradigm for studying the Book of Revelation. Hahn divides his subject matter into three main sections, considering in turn Scripture in the canon of the Mass, various interpretive approaches to the Book of Revelation and the mutual illumination of the Catholic Mass and John's Apocalypse. Apart from vapid section titles (e.g., "Guided Missal," "Resisting a Rest" and "The Need to Heed the Creed"), which detract from the serious themes presented, Hahn treats the material quite competently, and he is candid in his enthusiasm for both biblical liturgics and liturgical exegesis. Hahn's work is a fine introduction to eucharistic theology for the Catholic layperson, offering a crash course in the history of sacrificial worship in ancient Israel. The book has an ecumenical appeal, especially for Lutherans and Anglicans desiring to better acquaint themselves with Catholic ritual and the New Testament. The only consideration noticeably absent from Hahn's liturgical review of Revelation is whether the doxological splendors of the Mass are marred or made manifest in the hastily prepared English translations of the Latin Rite issued in the wake of the Second Vatican Council. Hahn, a Protestant minister who converted to Roman Catholicism, has written extensively about the Catholic faith in previous books (A Father Who Keeps His Promises, not reviewed, etc.). Here he examines the relationship between the Divine Liturgy and the Book of Revelation. Attending his first Mass, Hahn was struck by the word used to describe Jesus: lamb. Not the majestic, awe-inspiring language we usually reserve for God. But the Book of Revelation calls Jesus lamb, too, 28 times in 22 chapters. This was Hahn's first inkling that the key to understanding the Mass was Revelation, and the key to understanding Revelation was the Mass. His was not a new insight, but if Christians in the know have long understood the connections between Revelation and the Mass, most average church-goers would cock an eyebrow quizzically at the suggestion that the last book of the Bible has anything to do with bread and wine. Hahn's exploration of the connections between them is marred by superficiality, exemplified, but not limited to, a penchant for peppering the text with cute, near-pun subheadings, such as ``Well Bread'' and ``Moriah Carry.'' Courage of a Convert

This book by Scott Hahn is very nicely done. I commend Scott in this age of free thinkers for his courage in submitting his work to the test of the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur. So many writters today who purport to be presenting Catnolic theology or faith or interpretation of scripture or the other actions activities or positions of the Catholic Church delibertely avoid submiting their work to review by Church authority so that the readers can be assured of freedom from error or against the teaching of the Catholic Church. Dr. Hahn is not affraid to placce his work on the table for legitimate review.
The work itself is a beautiful testimony to the Mass and all that it is. Dr. Hahn's presentation brims with entusiasism for the Mass. It presents a wonderful understanding of the Mass that only one with the deep understanding of scripture can give. His road to conversion never fails to amplify the beauty of the Mass. This book is a worth while read for believers and non believer alike.

What a liberating Catholic idea--at Mass, we're in heaven!

Do you know about Scott Hahn? Maybe I'm the last person on earth to discover this articulate convert and his enthusiasm for the Catholic faith. "The Lamb's Supper" is the sort of book I devoured hungrily in my first years as a Catholic. In spite of tiresome liturgies, Hahn insists that we do go to heaven at every Mass we attend, "regardless of the quality of the music or the fervor of the preaching." What a liberating, Catholic idea. We need to find out what nurtures our faith and do it; but Catholics shouldn't be experience-hunters. Hahn reminds us of God's presence in and through our chief ritual, whether we can fully sense the sacredness or not. This book also serves to remind us to nurture our faith in the Mass by reading outside of Mass. After giving us a good workout on what the Mass is all about, Hahn uses the Book of Revelation to set loose the pyrotechnic imagery we're inclined to forget. All through his brief but pithy book are vivid scenes and Endtime tableaux meant to jolt us into a keen awareness of what salvation is all about, lest we doze the Mass away in our pews.

Stephen Neafcy has contributed thousands of hours of research to help families and professional find hope and help for their children and young adults with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). Diagnosed with FASD at 43, his life began again, knowing that he had a brain injury he needed to seek supports for.

The Long Way To Simple

This book does what very few have done. The courageous author has stepped out of his brain damage long enough to share his lucid account of what it is to live life with a damaged brain and not even know it. His existence, like so many with this disorder, was an absolute nightmare before knowing what was wrong and why life was so difficult. I applaud the author's courage and wisdom. I hope Mr. Neafcy will find it possible to give the world more of his wisdom wit and reflection in future books!

Another book on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders that is the voice of one living with it is THE BEST I CAN BE by Liz Kulp. I am grateful to these two courageous individuals for what they offer us as insight to living in the skin of one who is so invisibly challenged. Thank you Stephen and Liz!

Getting a Little Help from a Friend

Stephen Neafcy is a survivor of 50 years of living with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome/Spectrum Disorders. In those years he has found little things that go a long way in helping him to cope and he has shared them with us in his book. Written in a warm and easy manner, this book goes a long way in explaining the difficulties faced by children and adults with FAS/FASD and how to deal with some of them.

great steps forward, 4 steps to recovery
By "just a mom"
stephen and families with loved ones having fetal alcohol spectrum disorders; as i examine the way your/this book is written, the structure and the organization, let alone the humor and compassion within that layout and full story........i am completely in awe. your four step program of music, medication, meditation and a higher power are noteworthy in their directness and availability. we can all design a program for our child, children or even ourselves by taking these four simple prompts. i pray my 21 year old son with the same disorders can be as calm and settled as you are in his 50s; and i know your book will help to lessen his trauma in the world. the better people can understand how fasds feel from the inside the more we can modify and accommodate for those special needs. i want to read every syllable but so far i am just blown away by the logical and good common sense you are sharing in your book's format alone. thank U so much for writing this book. my fingers are just playing magically as i go back and forth from page to page- seeing what all lies ahead when i take it in order. your honesty about the trauma you endured without an appropriate diagnosis of your own fetal alcohol exposure [which caused organic brain damage brought about by your birth mom's use of alcohol while pregnant with you]-- this type of candor is not common in a field where still so much stigma and denial lie. your ability to be loving while frank, kind and forgiving while adressing explicitly the difficulties you endured pre-diagnosis-- well i have never seen anything like it. i agree that you should keep writing, keep speaking, keep telling stephen- because we need to listen.
